PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Eagles announced they’ve donated over $400,000 to regional non-profits working towards preventing gun violence in Philadelphia. They have as, launched the 'A Fan Of Change' campaign to bring hope back to the city.

The Social Justice Fund grants $410,350 to nine groups offering financial help and education for opposing violence. $300,000 will fund programs providing well-paying jobs to those affected by crime. The other $110,350 will be used for programs teaching children and adults about financial literacy.

Eagles running back Miles Sanders said:
"In Philadelphia, a lot of violence comes from poverty. Our youth are particularly at risk right now, so it's our responsibility to give them an example and show them there is a way out. We can do this by investing in programs that address the root causes of poverty and offer opportunities for those stuck in it."

This anti-gun violence campaign is closely tied to the NFL's Inspire Change initiative – a year-round effort led by NFL athletes and staff working towards creating equal opportunity across the country.
