Philadelphia, PA - The neighborhood of Port Richmond is turning 175 years old! All of Philadelphia is invited to the official celebration. Port Richmond Neighborhood Association will host The Official Port Richmond 175th Anniversary Celebration and Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26th, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Cohocksink Recreation Center. PRNA and community volunteers have been hosting an anniversary celebration for the iconic neighborhood formally since 2020 and informally since 2015.


This year, PRNA will host its largest celebration to date with a free outdoor community party that will include a Port Richmond-Opoly Monopoly Tournament, cake ceremony, egg hunt, senior of the year, live music, family fun, vendors, food, and more.

The entire city and region are invited to the free party at the Cohocksink Recreation Center for family fun for all ages! Look for these highlights and so much more:

"We are thrilled to bring back our official anniversary celebration for this special 175th milestone for one of Philadelphia's greatest neighborhoods," said PRNA President and Event Chair Doris Steegmueller Lynch. "We have been celebrating our neighborhood and its residents for nearly 10 years, and we are presenting our largest celebration to date with a little something for every age and taste. It is the perfect time to celebrate the spring weather and bring our neighborhood and community together - and we are so proud to have the support of so many neighbors, community groups, small businesses, and our city officials. Port Richmond, located in the River Wards section, has been an important part of Philadelphia since 1847. In honor of 175 years, Port Richmond Neighborhood Association, community volunteers, small businesses, and city officials have come together for a free outdoor celebration. Festivities are free to attend, with food and drink pay-as-you-go.

The day's festivities will kick off with the formal debut of Port Richmond Opoly - a special commemorative Monopoly-style game created exclusively for the PRNA. Calling all Monopoly, board game, AND Port Richmond lovers - this one for you!  Each limited edition game is only $30 and on sale at the celebration, as well as at the Port Richmond Shoprite and other retailers to be announced. Get your game for you or your family, and don't leave without one for your friends and neighbors. All proceeds will benefit and support programs by the PRNA, which recently acquired its 501-C-3 charity status.
