HORSHAM - Planet Smoothie Horsham franchisee Sherrell Oliver-Riley, who is also an actress and entrepreneur, has created a program to provide smoothies for her neighbors in need by offering all customers the ability to purchase 20-ounce smoothies for their neighbors for $3, which will be donated to shoppers at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Food Pantry beginning on Sunday, March 20th, which happens to be the first day of spring. In celebration of the launch of this initiative, Sherrell will match all purchases for this new program during the month of March.

Once each purchase is made, Sherrell will print a voucher that will be dropped off at St. John’s, which is located at 505 N. York Road in Hatboro, approximately 3 miles from her Planet Smoothie location in the Horsham Corner Shopping Center at 575 Horsham Road. Shoppers at St. John’s Food Pantry can then pick up and enjoy a 20-ounce frozen treat of their liking at their convenience.

“Everyone I know has struggled for the past two years as a result of Covid-19, and more people than ever are shopping at food pantries now, so I decided to do this to help our neighbors who are hurting,” said Oliver-Riley, who has owned and operated her Planet Smoothie franchise since May 15, 2019. “I feel blessed that I’ve made it through this with my business and acting career intact, and I’m hopeful we can generate a significant number of complementary smoothies for St. John’s Food Pantry shoppers to enjoy.”

Oliver-Riley, who is a mother of two, attended St. Joseph's University for both undergrad and graduate school. Besides being a franchisee, she also works as a theater, television, and film actress, with recent credits including New Amsterdam (NBC) and Power (Starz).
