PHILADELPHIA, PA - Philadelphia announced that due to the severe storm that hit the region, the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management opened reception centers for those impacted by storm damage. This includes flooding at their residence and opening the city’s Emergency Operations Center to coordinate the response to the storm.

The reception centers opened last night and remain throughout the duration of the storm event.

Philadelphia Storm Reception Locations:

  • West Philadelphia High School, 4901 Chestnut Street
  • Roxborough High School, 6498 Ridge Avenue

The centers are a safe location operated by the city and Red Cross where people can get out of harm’s way, receive information and guidance, and resources and basic necessities to those affected. Reception centers can transition to overnight shelters if needed.

Anyone in need of the reception center should bring medications and prescriptions, electronic devices and chargers, a change of clothing, toiletries, and essential documents such as insurance paperwork. Pets are also welcome at city reception centers and overnight shelters.
