Husband-and-wife-team Chef Lee Styer and Chef Jessie Prawlucki-Styer are celebrating 12 years in business on the heels of pivoting during the pandemic from sit-down restaurant to a prepared foods market and takeaway only, to Chef Lee Styer grilling street-side during the winter months for a crowd of loyal Fond patrons and brand-new guests. Making it through the pandemic and turning 12 is cause for [safe] celebration in the form of full flavors that are true to the core of Fond.

“We’re excited to welcome guests into our restaurant to celebrate our anniversary by enjoying a night of great food, drinks, and each other’s company,” said Chef Jessie Prawlucki-Styer, Co-Owner of Fond. “It’s been one hell of a ride so far, and we’re looking ahead to what’s next for us.”

Folks may join Chef Styer and his talented team of line cooks, bartenders, servers, General Manager, etc. Friday, August 27 – Sunday, August 29 to check out the brand-new seasonal offerings, plus a whole serving of the famed Fond Cake paired with a glass of Champagne for $12. The limited-edition dessert is crafted by Chef Prawlucki-Styer and is composed of malted milk chocolate mousse, peanut butter ganache, cocoa sponge cake, and a crispy base.

The restaurant initially opened its doors as BYOB in 2009, offering 28 seats to start. After moving to its current location adjacent to Philadelphia’s famous East Passyunk Avenue in 2012, Chefs’ Styer and Prawlucki grew the restaurant to 50 seats, added a stellar bar program, complete wine list, and 16 outdoor chairs, in addition to earning a coveted Three-Bell review from Craig LaBan and the Philadelphia Inquirer. The globally-inspired menu has been consistent but saw exciting additions due to a more oversized kitchen and more room at 1537 South 11th Street. Styer and Prawlucki’s style is contemporary American and evolved over time.
