East Passyunk Avenue Celebrates Pride Month with the Return of QOTA | Philadelphia Caller

PHILADELPHIA, PA - East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID), home to over 150 independently-owned businesses in South Philadelphia, celebrates Pride Month by welcoming back QOTA (Queers on the Avenue).

A monthly LGBTQA+ gathering amongst locals on Tuesday, June 22, with co-hosts Flannel and P’unk Burger, plus a complimentary group dance class at Society Hill Dance Academy.

QOTA dates back to 2009 when EPABID brought together LGBTQ friends, family, allies, neighbors, and business owners for a happy hour and networking mixer. Reeling off the success of the initial event, QOTA turned into a monthly get-together at a different location along the Avenue. Over a decade later, EPABID is pleased to announce the return of the beloved bash after a hiatus due to pandemic restrictions.

Folks are invited to East Passyunk Avenue on Tuesday, June 22, from 6 – 9 pm for a burger special, milkshakes, and delicious fare from P’unk Burger, as well as specialty cocktails, southern comfort food, and draft beer courtesy of Flannel – plus live music from Will Williams. In honor of QOTA and Pride Month, both restaurants will donate a percentage of sales to William Way LGBT Community Center, a non-profit organization serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender population of Philadelphia and nearby communities.

Additionally, Society Hill Dance Academy will host a complimentary group dance class that evening from 8 – 9:15 pm. During the course, attendees will learn the basics of Salsa and Bachata – no partner necessary – and are encouraged to bring their cocktail of choice with them for a night of mixing, mingling, and dancing.
