PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Fire Department is grieving the loss of Lt. Charles Grover, who served the City of Philadelphia as a firefighter for 32 years. Lt. Grover, 56, died Sunday morning, less than 24 hours after completing his shift with Ladder 31 in Northeast Philadelphia.

 

Among the accolades in his long career, Lt. Grover was named Firefighter of the Year in 2007 for rescuing a family of five from a fire in Strawberry Mansion. He also investigated fires for 12 years with the Fire Marshal’s Office.
