PHILADELPHIA – During the week of June 7th, trash and recycling collections in Philadelphia will be behind schedule by one day, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. Residents should take their trash out one day after their regular collection day.

Philly Falls Behind on Trash Collections

The temporary change is due to trash volume from the Memorial Day holiday, and the severe weather during the week of May 31st has caused delays in collections. Crews are still working to collect Friday’s materials leftover from last week. They will work to clear the remaining materials today and Monday, June 7th.

The Streets Department apologized for this inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation.
