PHILADEPHIA - After 9 months of delays due to COVID, supply shortages, and the industry staffing crisis, Northern Liberties will finally get its first-ever brick-and-mortar bagel and coffee shop - grand opening at the Piazza starting this weekend.
After a soft opening launch and neighborhood preview this past week, with nearly 2,000 customers flocking in the door and lining up down N. 2nd Street up to 50 people deep, Glu Hospitality is ready to debut its newest brand to the larger public - and introduce their first-breakfast and lunch-only brand!

Glu Hospitality, owners of Germantown Garden, Leda and the Swan, Vesper Dayclub, Germantown Garden Grill, Vesper Center City, Hunnies Crispy Chicken, and THREE soon-to-be-announced new restaurants, is proud to bring Brooklyn-style bagels to the city's hottest food neighborhood.
By the end of summer, owners Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu will have NINE eateries and bars within 2 blocks of each other - representing nearly 30% of all restaurants in Northern Liberties. This also is the third opening in a row following Anejo and SET NoLibs - both of them have had sold out and full service since opening last summer in the middle of the pandemic.
Bagels and Co will come complete with more than a dozen varieties of cooked-fresh on-site daily-made bagels for its opening menu - plus over TWO DOZEN varieties of cream cheeses. Additionally, look for vegan and gluten-free offerings, non-dairy spreads, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee drinks, baked goods, and other cafe items - and down the road, look for a late afternoon and early evening cafe menu.
