Philadelphia, PA  – The Germantown Arts District (GAD) invites the greater Philadelphia community to celebrate art, culture, and society at the FIRST GAD Block Party on Friday, September 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event will take place along Germantown Avenue (5400 Block), with live music and dance performances, food trucks, local vendors, artists, and activities, allowing guests to immerse themselves in an evening of art, connection, community, and excitement.


The GAD Block Party aims to expand the visibility of the Germantown Arts District with creative activities/art exploration while celebrating the organization's achievements thus far and preparing guests for the organization's future actions. The event will allow the GAD and Germantown community members to connect and get to know one another better.

Onstage performances include Christian Castro-Tauser; Meg Allison & Alex Roberson (MAAD Collective); Elizabeth Powell; Poetry Plants & Power; Elizabeth Buchheister; Koresh Youth Ensemble; specialist3ffect/simile; EllieX; Muyu Ruba; Leigha Bartko; JaEd; The Bul Bey; Amari Rebel & The Movement – all culminating with a special announcement from the Germantown Arts District at 8:25 pm!

Food trucks include Deke’s Food Truck (@dekes_bbq_roadhouse); Tropical Treats (@phillytropicaltreats); Grubaholics Food Truck (@grubaholics); Husky Jawn Corn Roasting Co. (@huskyjawn). Local vendors include Bucks County Flowers and Things (@buckscountyflowersandthings); Kinesics Dance Dynamics (@kinesicsdancedynamics); What’s The Tea LLC (@whats_the_tea_llc); Touchy Feely (@touchyfeelygame); Busy Deej Photography (@busydeejphotography); Cmarie Body Products (@cmariebodyproducts); Kingston Koutoure (@kingston_koutoure) Holland & Milan Orangics LLC (@hollandmilanorganics). Featured artists include Jae Martin (@jae_martin), Allens Lane Art Center (@allenslaneartcenter), Tatum Marino Art(@tatummarino_art), Nish Serrano Arts(@nishs_art), Roy Urban Kollection LLC(@royurbankollection), Elizabeth Whatley(@whatley.sculpts). Performing DJs include DJ Matigeo(@matigeo_), Dj Bluu Boi(@bluuboifilms) , DJ Femi(@djfemi412).

Located between Berkeley and Johnson Street in Philadelphia, Germantown is one of the city's oldest settlements, dating back to colonial times.
