NEWTOWN, PA - The Borscht Belt Delicatessen, Newtown, PA, is cooking something special to celebrate National Sandwich Month this August. The addition of the Meshuggenah is an oversized version of Kellerman's favorite sandwich.

"We wanted to do something extra special to celebrate National Sandwich Month here at Borscht Belt," said Chef and Co-Owner Nick Liberato. We doubled our Kellerman's sandwich with pastrami and corned meat, added Russian dressing, coleslaw and Swiss cheese to the rye bread, then used the sandwich to benefit people in need. "

The Meshuggenah is a nearly 10-inch-high sandwich that can feed up to two hungry people. It will be sold at the Borscht Belt for $27 during National Sandwich Month. Some of the proceeds will go to Bucks County Housing Group to support their Food Pantry Programs. Erik Clare, Executive Director of Bucks County Housing Group, said: "We are delighted to partner with Borscht Belt for their mouthwatering, The Meshuggenah" The Meshuggenah, a 10-inch high sandwich that can easily feed two or more hungry guests, will be available for $27 at the Borscht Belt throughout August. Some proceeds will go to Bucks County Housing Group to support their Food Pantry Programs. "

This reimagined delicatessen pays homage to a period of history that needed to be remembered. It is a tribute to the way food, friends, and family were served in the past and can again.
