PHILADELPHIA - Walnut Garden's pop-up in the 1700 block of Walnut Street, Rittenhouse, was told to shut down Wednesday night by L&I inspectors. FCM Hospitality last month opened the pop-up garden at the 1700 block of Walnut Street in Philadelphia. They transformed an old fire-ravaged area into a new family-friendly cocktail bar in Rittenhouse.

However, the city's Department of Licenses & Inspections visited the bar and cited it for several violations. They also placed a stop operations sign at the gate of Walnut Garden. L&I provided documents to Philly Mag that show Walnut Garden is not permitted to serve food. The bar's Instagram page also confirms this. L&I cited Walnut Garden also for electrical violations and plumbing issues. They also had issues with an outdoor tent and a diesel fuel tank that was over 200 gallons.

It is unclear if the pop-up bar will reopen or not at this time.
