PHILADELPHIA - Queen Elizabeth II's funeral procession has begun in the UK, and people across the world are mourning her death.  The queen, the longest reigning monarch in the world, died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The funeral procession is a fitting tribute to her life and long reign.


The procession route begins at Westminster Abbey, where the Queen's coffin is placed.  People have lined up along the route, with police and military personnel lining up on the streets and in the park. Big Ben tolls and gun salutes are fired at one-minute intervals from Hyde Park. There are also designated viewing areas along the route. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police lead the procession, which comprises seven groups, each with its own band. The procession will include members of the Royal Family and armed forces.

The funeral is expected to attract millions of viewers worldwide. It will be the first royal funeral to be televised. The ceremony will conclude with the Last Post salute and a two-minute period of silence. The coffin will then be carried through central London, passing the palace of the queen and the Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner. Members of the royal family and the King's Household members will follow it.
