PENN STATE - In the Ohio vs. Penn State game, the Ohio Bobcats were easily defeated by the Nittany Lions 46-10.  Even though Penn State jumped out to a 26-7 halftime lead, the Nittany Lions answered with a strong defensive effort. Penn State prevented Ohio from crossing midfield just three times in the game. In addition, Ohio's running game didn't produce as much as it had in recent years. Nick Singleton ran for 179 yards on ten carries, and Drew Allar completed two touchdown passes.

Penn State didn't score on its first possession, but the Buckeyes didn't have many big plays. They moved the ball in spurts and rarely gained more than 25 yards on a single play. In addition, the offense relied on short completions to move the ball down the field. However, despite the lack of explosive plays, the Bobcats did get a touchdown on its final drive.

The Bobcats put plenty of pressure on the Penn State quarterback and registered five sacks.  In addition, Ohio defensive end Jeremiah Burton stonewalled Clifford in the plus territory and forced a turnover on downs.

Ohio last played Penn State in 2012, and the Bobcats won the game 24-14. They held the Nittany Lions to 14 points in the third quarter and extended the lead to 10 points with two minutes and 55 seconds left in the game.
