BROOMALL, PA - Amazon Fresh is expanding its grocery store concept by opening a new store in Broomall, Pa., which uses "Just Walk Out" technology to eliminate the checkout line and save time for customers. The technology uses cameras and artificial intelligence to keep track of shoppers as they shop and charge them automatically when they leave. The Broomall location will be Amazon Fresh's second in Pennsylvania, following one in Warrington in Bucks County.


Amazon Fresh Opens New Store in Broomall, Pa., With Just Walk Out Technology

Customers can expect various items from national brands to local brands to fresh plant-based products. The store will be staffed by a manager, Mike Liberatore, who will have a close relationship with the local community and residents. He will be on-site all day to answer questions and help customers.

Amazon Fresh has 39 locations nationwide, up from 14 a year ago. Those locations include five in Virginia and four in Washington state. Its stores in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. are among the largest chains of grocery stores in the country.

Customers can use credit cards, debit cards, Amazon One, and SNAP/EBT to pay for their groceries. Just Walk Out technology is available in three California Amazon Fresh locations and several yet-to-open Fresh locations in New York and New Jersey.
