PHILADELPHIA - The City of Philadelphia hosts a beautiful Pop Up Garden at 1401 JFK Boulevard in the Plaza to recognize Overdose Awareness.  Throughout September, there will be different daily activities geared towards overdose awareness in many different forms.

When the garden is up, they will offer programming that will provide opportunities for stakeholders and individuals in the field to learn from the real, lived experiences that bereaved survivors can share. We know that graphs and statistics have not solved this crisis, so we are encouraging those who work in or adjacent to the field of substance use to join us for a speaker series where bereaved survivors will share their stories and shed light on the complexity of this crisis.

This is the perfect time for first responders to participate in something affecting many families within our communities at an extremely high rate.  Families will be there to share their experiences to help first responders see past the judgments and stigmas often associated with substance use disorder. There will also be resources available for first responders to have information on hand to assist families they will come across.

Wednesday, September 14th, 2-4 pm: 1401 JFK Blvd. Thomas Paine Plaza
