PHILADELPHIA - The Buy, the Hood Ownership Camp is now accepting campers ages five and up for their free summer program, which teaches youngsters in the Philadelphia area the fundamentals of assets, money, banking, and real estate. The virtual camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on six consecutive Saturdays from June 25 through July 30.

“We have been running this free virtual camp for several years, and it’s amazing to see kids as young as 5 and 6 years old embracing financial concepts and successfully managing mock portfolios, said Corey Camp, co-founder of Buy the Hood Ownership Camp. “We hope to expose them to concepts and ideas that will help create future leaders in our community.”
In the program, young campers learn how to create a budget; how a bank operates; basic real estate and stock market terminology, select profitable companies; and navigate the cryptocurrency market.
Jimmy Williams, the co-founder of Buy the Hood Ownership Camp, said he’s super excited to partner with Purvy and PREW. “We realize that we need our message to reach multiple generations to really impact our community. Contributions from the gala will help our camp reach even more kids and families in the 2022 season and beyond.”
