PHILADELPHIA - Assembly Rooftop Lounge is hosting Drag high tea on Sunday, August 13, from 10 am to 1:30 pm. The afternoon tea service Corsets and Courses is hosting the first annual Miss Summer School Pageant, featuring an all-star cast, a mock pageant-themed brunch, and themed cocktails.
The Geriatric Gem, Dominique Lee, will host this beautiful event alongside drag stars Heaveans 2, Betsy Morgan Morgan Morgan Mandy Mango, and Drag King Eugene. Each contestant will have a Q&A, a talent show and a power ballad.
After arriving, guests can enjoy a free drink and a 4-course meal prepared by Executive Chef Sonny Ingui inspired by the mock pageant. (Think Honey Boo Boo carnival, DIY Taco Bell ...):
- Bread Course: Jalapeno Popper Donut with nduja cream cheese filling
- First Course: Walking Taco with bison, black beans, roasted corn pico, chipotle crema, and cilantro
- Second Course: Pork Belly Confit Corndog with cabernet mustard
- Third Course: Sorbet
- Dessert: Funnel Cake with hidden rose applesauce
Those who want to go the extra mile can buy tickets on Tick for $75 per ticket (must be over 21 with a valid ID). If the weather is bad, the event will move indoors at The Logan Hotel. All ticket holders will receive a notification. The Logan Hotel will offer valet parking.
The fall season of Courses and Corsets continues with a show-themed Y2GAY on Sunday, September 17th, and a Disney Villains on Sunday, October 29th.
