PHILADELPHIA - Slated to open in spring 2023 at the corner of 9th and Chestnut Streets in Center City, Philadelphia, High Street is excited to announce its long-anticipated re-opening of its full-service dine-in restaurant.  Located in the northwest corner of the Franklin Residences, next to High Street Bakery, the restaurant is a continuation of its predecessor High Street on Market’s acclaimed breakfast, lunch, and dinner programs which garnered national recognition from Conde Nast Traveler, Bon Appetit, and Travel + Leisure upon opening back in 2013.

The culinary program will be helmed by Christina McKeough, Executive Chef of High Street since 2019 and a tenured member of HSHG.  The menu will focus on High Street’s obsession with local grains and bread by featuring seasonal, handmade portions of pasta and pizzas and showcasing High Street Hospitality Group’s long-standing relationships with local farms and vendors. The 3,400 square-foot restaurant will offer 38 seats and, new for High Street, a bar seating 14 where local sourcing will continue in a wine and beverage program curated by a.kitchen’s general manager Harry Jamison and expanded by Chef Christina’s first-hand knowledge of eastern U.S. wines.

High Street’s pandemic pivot outpost at 101 S 9th Street (High Street Bakery) will become a permanent bakery offering a more extensive array of laminated pastries, bread products, and limited takeout for the Washington West community led by Head Baker Delilah Pergola. The bakery, visible from the dining room to tie both spaces together, will offer an even more fantastic selection of retail bread on-site, at the Head House farmers market, and other farmers’ markets.

The new space will also be home to “The Back Room” (834 Chestnut Street), where private dining, meeting, and reception space will be available inspired by the cuisine of sister concept Fork. The Back Room can accommodate 30-40 people seated, plus a reception space in the Franklin Lobby can host up to 100.
