PHILADELPHIA - Located along the Delaware River, near Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood, the new Rita's Italian Ice perfectly complements the casino's existing offerings.

Previously known as SugarHouse Casino, this new stand-alone casino is the sixth stand-alone location in the country. It was awarded a gaming license by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on December 20, 2006. This is the first Rita's in the city, located in a casino and expected to offer a guest a great selection of Italian Ice.

The new location will open on March 20 and will be a welcome addition to the company's expanding brand footprint. In addition to its current locations in theme parks, airports, and train stations, the company has several non-traditional expansion targets.

Despite the recent growth, Rita has continued to make moves in the restaurant industry. This includes introducing a mobile app that allows consumers to order their favorite flavors and enjoy the experience on the go.

Rita's contacted the Rivers Casino in Philadelphia about a possible outpost in the past year. The location will be in the food court area alongside Geno's Steaks and other Philadelphia-based restaurants.
