PHILADELPHIA (May 2, 2024) – The City of Philadelphia is thrilled to welcome back 40,000 runners to the 45th annual Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run this Sunday, May 5th. The iconic 10-mile race, now at total capacity for the first time since the pandemic, will see runners traverse the heart of Philadelphia along Broad Street.

“We're excited to celebrate all of the runners in this year's Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run," said Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. "This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our city at its best – come out and join in the spirit!"

After three years of alternate finish lines, the 2024 race will return to its traditional endpoint in the historic Navy Yard. Beginning at Broad & Fisher, participants will enjoy an iconic straight shot down Broad Street, passing through North Philadelphia, Center City, and South Philadelphia.

“We are deeply grateful to Independence Blue Cross for making this incredible race a reality," said Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner Susan Slawson. "Our staff is committed to ensuring a fun and safe race for all participants. Best of luck to the runners – see you at the finish line!”
